Data are stored individually and anonymously (individual alphanumeric case identification code is assigned by each cancer registry, not allowing patient identification by the coordinating centre) in a dedicated INT server.
By using a web interface, cancer registries can transfer their data securely and efficiently by using an FTP server, accessible by cancer specific-usernames and passwords centrally assigned by the Analytical Epidemiology and Health Impact Unit (coordinating centre) at INT.
Thus, only the centralised data analysis team accesses the datasets uploaded by the cancer registries.
